The population of the city as a component of the denotative content of the image of Vladivostok: on the example of texts by M. Shcherbakov

Attempts were made to research the denotative content of the image of the city of Vladivostok, presented in the works of one of the brightest representatives of Russian literature of the Far Eastern emigration Mikhail Shcherbakov. The structure of the image of the city is
considered by the author in terms of cognitive linguistics, which allows to identify the content of the image of the city in the texts under the consideration based on the methodology of analyzing he content of the concept. Lexico-semantic analysis facilitated the identification of nominations indicating the population of the city, the buildings, the surrounding nature and caused the allocation of denotative content in the structure of the image under study. The paper analyzes and structures the linguistic means of representing the component of the image of Vladivostok in the texts of M. Shcherbakov and describes the features of their functioning.
